Ajna

“I seek my inner wisdom, awakening my connection to spirit.”
The sixth chakra located in the middle of the eyebrows, connects to our cosmic insight. When off balance there may be moodiness, daydreaming and distrust. When in balance, we feel open and focused, a deep spiritual connection, strong morality and can easily determine between truth and illusion.
  • The sixth chakra, Ajna meaning; to perceive or to command. Other names; the Winged Perceiver, Guru
  • The eye of Shiva (higher consciousness), center of divine, sight, clairvoyance, wisdom, divine experiences, etc.
  • Located at the in the seat of the mind, in the center of the skull, within the chitrini nadi, in the region of the pineal gland in the back portion of the brain’s third ventricle.
  • The fifth chakra is also governed by the planet JUPITER, in Sanskrit “GURU”, planet of spirituality, knowledge, wealth, and growth. Ruled by Sagittarius.

Two Petals of the Ajna –
Third Eye Chakra

The seed syllable of Ajna is Ksham and the more well known, Om, or “Pranava Om”, which is believed to be the basic sound of the world and contains all other sounds. It is considered the supreme sound of the universe.

The Bīja mantras are monosyllabic seed sounds which, when they are spoken aloud, activate the energy of the chakras in order to purify and balance the mind and body.

The energy resonates in the chakra associated with the mantra, helping the speaker become aware of their body’s needs.

Each chakra is embedded with qualities called vrittis (whirlpools) which are thought-forms or emotions held within the chakra.

Clockwise:

Mantras

  • Hang (Shiva)
  • Kshang (Shakti)

The radiations of hang and kshang are white, pure (sattvic), and powerful.

In the radiations are the five Vayus (vital airs), five divine powers, and kundalini power.

Balancing Ajna Chakra Energy:
Healing Through the Five Senses

Mudra & Mantra

Close your eyes and begin to chant the mantra “OM or AUM” for 3 minutes. First out loud for a few rounds, then silently to yourself. While chanting, I would like you to visualize a bright yellow energy penetrating your solar plexus from the front and back of your being. This beautiful yellow light is cleansing and energizing your Ajna chakra into the glowing sunshine bright yellow chakra it is. Also, keep in mind any sensations, colors, pictures or words you might experience, these are all messages from the divine.

If you would like to add some healing sound to your meditation, I have provided some healing throat chakra G-tone quartz crystal sound bowl frequencies in my youtube video below. Enjoy!
